Comments
Continuation of the press conference from previous video. Spilman continues to defend the initial appointment of Dr. Zinser. Dr. Zinser answers a question about the students not being directly told of her resignation. Someone asks Spilman if there will be reprisals against the students. Someone asks her if she will share what she's learned from this week with members of congress at their meeting next week. She says she learned how important free speech is and how hard it is to lead a complex institution and that she will share it with congress if they ask. Someone asks to clarify what she meant when she said "outside influences" affected the protests. She refuses to elaborate. Someone asks how the Board will solicit feedback from the deaf people to guide their appointment. Someone asks how many members of the Board sign. Spilman says four members can sign and others are taking classes now. Frank Sullivan notes that there are interpreters present at all Board meetings and there is no communication issue.
