Comments

Continuation of the press conference from previous video. Someone asks Sullivan if the deaf members of the Board knew that something would happen with the appointment with a hearing president. He says they were warned that the backlash would be terrible if they chose a hearing president. Someone asks if the hearing members understood the level of backlash they would receive. Sullivan doesn't think the hearing members took them seriously. Someone notes that what he says contradicts Spilman's statement that the Board didn't see the protests coming. Sullivan says even the deaf members didn't realize the backlash would be of this magnitude so nobody saw it coming. Dr. Zinser adds that she was cautioned that the members of the community would be disappointed in her appointment but nobody realized it would be that intense. Spilman adds that there were six candidates before the final three. She notes that Dr. Zinser consistently had the highest remarks across the board. The conference concludes. Video pans out to people leaving or asking the panel members more questions individually
