Continuation of the press conference. It is mostly Dr. Zinser answering questions pertaining to her views on the protests, her meeting with Dr. I. King Jordan, and what affected her to make her decision to resign. Spilman is also asked a few questions about her remaining on the Board of Trustees. Someone asks Spilman why the protests are happening now as opposed to in the past. Frank Sullivan is asked about his opinion on the tenure of Spilman and the 50% majority deaf on the Board of Trustees demand. He supports having more deaf members on the Board. Someone asks Spilman about the 3.5 demands still left to meet. She reiterates that the Board will meet next week to decide a new president and changes in the Board. Dr. Ingold adds the most important thing is that an institution on higher education must decide what its emphasis will be, what are its priorities? She says the university will review the master plan and allocate resources after the protests. Someone asks Spilman if she recognizes that they couldn't see the civil rights moment happening for Gallaudet with this selection due to the fact that most of the Board of Trustees is hearing. Spilman denies it.
