Video begins at a press conference on Gallaudet campus. The attendees are Phil Bravin, Greg Hlibok, and Dr. I. King Jordan. Q and A begins. Someone asks what the effect of the protests will be on youths in school. All three explain positive changes that will happen. Someone asks what's different about this generation of students that caused them to lead the protests. Bravin says they all share the common deaf experience. Someone asks what made Board realize something had to change. Bravin answers the question vaguely saying that the discussion the day before was very intense. Someone asks Jordan about his experience over the last week with the changing of his mind and his eventual appointment. He notes he didn't really change his mind, but rather he was trying not to take a stance on the protests. Once he realized it was more than simply a Gallaudet issue he endorsed the protests. Someone asks Bravin about the 51% majority deaf on the Board demand. He explains the task force that is being created. Someone refers to Jordan's earlier statement about Gallaudet in a fishbowl and asks if he feels unfair pressure to succeed. Jordan doesn't think the pressure is unfair and he thinks its good. Someone asks Dr. Jordan if the last 7 days changed his agenda as president. He says one major change is that he has implemented an active advisory group. Someone asks what they think the last week has shown the hearing community. Jordan says one change is that people are not imposing limits on what the Deaf can do. Someone asks Jordan about his experience at the University of Tennessee. He said at the time he attended, he had only been deaf three years and wasn't fluent enough in sign language to use an interpreter and it was hard. Someone asks Greg if the students are satisfied with the task force from the Board regarding the 51% majority demand. Greg said the students are putting their trust in the task force since it will be a majority deaf one. Someone asks Phil if he can provide any context to the Board's decision to appoint Jordan. He says the Board was unanimous in their decision to appoint Dr. Jordan.
