Video begins at the Capitol with John Maucere leading a chant. Paul Singleton comes up to introduce speakers. Model Secondary School for the Deaf students perform a brief skit. Greg Hlibok calls up the other leaders. He says they are grateful for the support. Tim says there are still 3 1/2 demands left to go. Bridgetta says it is just the beginning. Jerry says last night only one door was open, and there are many left to open. They thank everyone for showing support in different ways. Jerry introduces Congressman Steve Gunderson from Wisconsin, a member of Gallaudet's Board of Trustees. He compares the DPN march to the march in Selma, Alabama. He says they all should be united in their goal of a better Gallaudet. He thanks Dr. Zinser for her service and resignation so the deaf community and Gallaudet can begin moving on. Gunderson promises he is ready to help, communicate, and build that trust between the Board and Gallaudet. Tim Rarus introduces Bobby Silverstein to speak. He says the protesters communicated their message clear. It has made an impact on people for future generations. He also says the deaf community members are his heroes. Bridgetta introduces a Connecticut senator to speak, and her legislative assistant appears instead. She says the senator supports their protest and is impressed with them. Someone introduces Truman Selle of the Gallaudet faculty as the next speaker. He says he has taught for 19 1/2 years. He is proud of the students. He says the Board must recognize that the deaf can be placed into higher level positions.
