It is very early in the morning, and graduate students are parking their cars to block the entrance to Gallaudet. Mary Lou Novitsky interviews them, asking what happened last night to make them join the protests. They realized they needed to show support. To avoid arrests, the students move out of the way when asked by the security officers. Police are standing at the entrance and students peacefully protest outside the main gates of Gallaudet. By daylight, a student says that audiology professors refuse to cancel classes, so the audiology students bar entry of the faculty to the Mary Thornberry Building to protest. Tensions rise as Novitsky discusses claims a police officer hit a student. Negotiations occur over opening the gates so no arrests happen.
